Locus amoenus explores mechanisms of a comprehensive re-contextualization of her own culturally shaped history- especially emotional occurrences regarding the language of art. The artists experienced reality and her interpretations – her topos – the environments and surroundings that shaped her are being transformed into a graphical representation. The forest as a subject displays Torrado’s current topography. Associated with her habitat in Germany, the forest resembles the equivalent to the artist’s previous major subject “ocean”. Ever since the ocean as a symbol of life for Torrado represents her strong relationship –visual and emotional- to her land of origin Uruguay.
